Welcome to my blog! My name is Luca, I’m a network technician with a few years of experience in a helpdesk team. These articles will try to mix some personal thoughts and the theory behind the technologies I deal with every day at work. I started this blog as a personal project without the presumption that it will become an authoritative source of information. Nevertheless, I will strive to make the articles less chaotic as possible.
Who am I
I鈥檓 Luca from 馃嚠馃嚬 and I work in the networking world since September 2017. After high-school I wasn鈥檛 sure about starting university, so I attended a Cisco boot-camp held by a local system integrator. Before that course I didn鈥檛 have any big working experiences excluding some short stages in two IT departments organized by my school. During my high school year I have worked almost exclusively with programming languages like Java and the web trio CSS, HTML and PHP....

A coffee break article about RRM
A coffee break article about RRM Why, when and how we use vendor鈥檚 algorithms, like ARM or RRM, to manage channels and transmit power of our access points? Why sometimes when I configure the RRM I feel like I am touching the buttons of a nuclear reactor control plant? All this nonsense started from this r/networking article written 10 months ago. I advise you to go and read it and also read the comments of the users....
Wi-Fi channels
Wi-Fi channels A big premise This article is a mix of what I鈥檝e learned in the past few years and more recent studies on the RF physical layer which forced me to investigate in depth concepts like: encoding, spectral mask, Clear Channel Assessment or the Shannon limit. Stuff that you don鈥檛 have to know perfectly if you鈥檙e trying to achieve a mixed-work career oriented more towards R&S than wireless technologies and I probably won鈥檛 study them deeply myself....
ENWLSI 300-430 | Location services
Location Services ENWLSI Notes from CAP 13 - Location Services Deployment Cisco Mobility Service Engine (MSE) + Cisco Mobile Experience (CMX) Cisco DNA Spaces Indoor Location Protocols Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) is a part of IEEE 802.15.4 and transmits pulses in a wide bandwidth spectrum of 500 MHz. The protocol is not widely used and Cisco does not support it yet. UWB is useful for real-time location systems, and its precision capabilities and low power make it well-suited for radio-frequency-sensitive environments, such as hospitals....
Note-taking with Obsidian
Note-taking with Obsidian Obsidian is a free, open-source note-taking app which helps you link your notes to each other using hypertext with markdown files. Why I need to switch from OneNote, Google Drive or Evernote to Obsidian? You don鈥檛. You don鈥檛 especially because Obsidian is a pain in the ass to configure and mantain a well-ordered list of notes, both useful and practical and cool-at-the-eyes, is not a simple task and I鈥檓 far from achiving it....
